An Invitation to Embrace Your Inner Seasons

Hello there,

I want to share a concept that has been a profound part of my own journey: embracing your inner seasons — the natural cycles of growth and change within you — as a metaphor for personal growth and self-discovery. The beauty of this concept lies in its connection to the unique rhythm of your body, and the way tuning into that rhythm can enhance your overall wellbeing. So, come along as we explore how this metaphor can guide you towards a deeper relationship with the self that's always in motion, offer insights through the lens of astrology, and remind you to hold your own seasons with more flexibility.

Inner Seasons as Phases in Life

Life doesn't always follow a linear path, and that's okay. Just like the world around us experiences seasons, we too move through phases, cycles, and spirals. It's a reminder that personal growth and self-discovery aren't about moving forward consistently in a straight line. Rather, it's about recognising the beauty in the ebb and flow of life. So, be kind to yourself if your journey doesn't always align with predetermined expectations.

Listen to Your Body's Rhythm

We're not machines, programmed to work at the same pace indefinitely. Just as nature's seasons vary, our energy levels and emotions fluctuate too, much like our own internal weather. The menstrual cycle is one example, mirroring the seasons of nature. Think, too, about the broader phases of life — the exuberance of youth, the productivity of adulthood, the reflection of later years. These stages can be seen as seasons in their own right. This isn't just a nice idea; it's a felt, bodily reality — one that becomes easier to trust the more you slow down enough to notice it. By connecting with these rhythms, you can gain a deeper understanding of your body and adapt your self-care and activities accordingly.

Astrology as a Map, Not a Verdict

Astrology has been an enlightening guide on this journey — not as fortune-telling, but as a way of understanding the "weather" of a life. It's a reminder that we're not separate from the wider patterns around us, but intricately connected to them. Our birth charts act as a snapshot of the cosmic conditions present when we entered the world, and understanding them can offer real insight into our personal seasons and the turning points that ask something new of us. We each move through our own cycles, and astrology can help us navigate them with greater clarity — not by telling us who we are, but by showing us the terrain we're currently standing in.

Flexibility in Your Seasons

Embracing personal seasons and cycles might initially seem complex. It takes time to loosen the grip of old conditioning, recognise your own rhythms, and keep choosing — season by season — who you're becoming, rather than settling on a fixed idea of who you should already be. Yet it's a path filled with steadiness, acceptance, and quiet empowerment. There's no fixed destination; it's an ongoing process of self-discovery and self-tending.

Join Me on This Path

I invite you to begin this path of gentle exploration. A good place to start is Finding Ground, a free taster of the nature of my practice. If you're drawn to going deeper, Tending offers a rhythmic, four-week email cycle for ongoing reflection. And if you're curious about psychological astrology, or working together through embodied counselling and hypnotherapy, online or outdoors along the Jurassic Coast, I'd love to hear from you.

I hope this has been an invitation to listen to your body and the whispers of your own seasonal rhythm — to trust your unfolding path, and to keep tending, cycle by cycle.

Warm regards,

Anna

A Few Questions You Might Have

Is this the same as fortune-telling astrology? No. The astrology I work with isn't about prediction or being told what will happen. It's a way of understanding the patterns and terrain of a particular life season, so you can navigate it with more clarity and choice — not less.

How is this different from traditional talk therapy? It isn't separate from it — it's woven through it. Alongside conversation, I bring in body awareness, hypnotherapy, and (where it's helpful to you) astrology, so the work moves beyond just understanding "why," toward a felt sense of steadiness in how you live.

Do I need to know anything about astrology to start? Not at all. Whether we work with astrology, stay purely with talk and somatic therapy, or blend both depends entirely on what feels useful to you — it's never a requirement.
